Sad News: Joan Woollard July 27, 2017 14:08

It is with great sadness we note the passing of Joan Woollard, the Club's President for many years. She enjoyed her Friday evenings at the Club, especially in more recent times. Joan was the widow of Ken Woollard, the organiser and artistic director of the Cambridge Folk Festival from 1964 to 1993. Modestly, she tended to underestimate how much she did to make the Festival such a success. We will miss her at the Club enjoying the music, but will remember her sitting in bright sunshine on the bench she commissioned in 2014 in Ken's memory, surrounded by her friends.
Long may Joan and Ken's musical legacy continue!
