Open Stage 2024 Album

 

Cambridge Folk Club, in association with 8424Jam, have released a compilation “Open Stage 2024” Album, available on most streaming platforms worldwide.

Cambridge Folk Club is very grateful to Sherif (aka 8424Jam) for everything he has done to put together, promote and release this compilation album.

This compilation features 20 artists who are carrying on the Cambridge Folk Club’s tradition of performing live acoustic music, a tradition established over 60 years ago when the Club was first founded.

From booking the young Paul Simon as early as 1965 to featuring the now legendary Martin Carthy and Nic Jones, and more recently, putting on Show of Hands and Ralph McTell, the Cambridge Folk Club has always sought to present the best in folk and acoustic music. In 2024 alone, its programme included Boo Hewerdine, Brooks Williams and Peggy Seeger. But the Club isn’t just about big names; at its Open Stage nights it also supports lesser-known talented artists, not always local, some of whose music you can hear on this compilation album.

Located at the Golden Hind Pub, Milton Road, Cambridge, Marion, Robin, Calvin, Chris, Andy Judy and the crew put on events every Friday night from September to June. The Open Stage nights happen every first Friday in the month at 8pm, and all artists, wherever they are from in the world, are welcome to come along and play!
