Free CD if you book in advance for concert on 14th February February 4, 2020 15:06

Kevin Hunt is offering a free copy of his debut album, "Devils Daughter", to those who book a ticket in advance for the concert on Valentines Day 2020 which includes his album launch.

In the second half of this concert which also features Lester Lloyd-Reason, Kevin will sing many of the songs from this album. Kevin is delighted to launch "Devils Daughter" at the Cambridge Folk Club and as a way of thanks to those who have listened, inspired and requested songs since he first played at Cambridge folk club over 10 years ago, Kevin is offering a free copy of the album to those who book a ticket in advance for this gig.

Kerry Devine is unable to appear on 22nd November. On 22nd November the Folk Club now presents Eric Sedge; Na-Mara with support from Sam Inglis & Abby Wollston.

There will be no Open Stage this coming Friday 1st November as we would like to attend the service to celebrate the life of the much loved musician Mat Bayfield.

We apologise to all of those who had planned to come along to play. Karl Hunter who was going to be the special guest on 1st November, will now appear in early 2020.

We look forward to welcoming all musicians to our next Open Stage which is on Friday 6th December.

It was with great sadness and regret that we heard of the passing yesterday of our dear friend, the wonderful Broadside Boy, Mat Bayfield.

Karen Tweed Accordion Workshop: Saturday 23rd February 10am to 1pm. January 22, 2019 19:24

This 3-hour accordion workshop (with tea break) will cover playing and arranging tunes from Orkney, Scandinavia and Ireland (notation provided in advance). There will be places for a maximum of 10 people.

The cost of this workshop is £25. There will be a £5 discount for anyone who has also bought a ticket for Karen's concert on Friday 22nd February.

Phillip Henry Slide Guitar Workshop on 2nd November 2018 September 28, 2018 10:47

On 2nd November, Phillip Henry will appear at the Cambridge Folk Club as part of his national True North Tour. In the afternoon, from 4pm to 5:30pm, Phillip will hold a Slide Guitar Workshop. Attendees will have a chance to lead the workshop in the directions most useful to them. People are welcome to say what they’d like to learn about in advance, but the nature of how Phil runs the workshop means he will cater for them as he goes. Please email enquiries@cambridgefolkclub.co.uk if you are interested or need more information.

The workshop will be followed at 8pm by Phillip Henry in concert.

Message from John Saul at The Tasting Room, Hope Street Yard. He has a day of music planned and still has space for performers.

Play for Fun at Hope Street Yard

Short notice, I know, but we are opening our shop selling premium spirits this Saturday, 30th June, and have space for music. If anyone would like to come down to Hope Street Yard, off Mill Road, Cambridge, to help us celebrate, please let me know. There will be alcohol. It will be very casual so there is no set length to play. The event runs from 11.00 am to 7.00pm.

Cambridge Folk Club has put together an alternative evening of musical entertainment, which will feature James Eisner; The Chris Fox Trio; Daria Kulesh; Pat Crilly and One Man Down. Cambridge Folk Club is very sorry to inform you that Mentés Másként are unable to appear in this Friday's (22nd June) concert because a member of the ensemble has suffered a family bereavement.

The Club is putting together an alternative evening of musical entertainment, which will feature, amongst others, James Eisner, the musician who would have been supporting Mentés Másként. Details to follow as soon as possible.
