Hunter Muskett is an acoustic/electric 3-piece, whose members are Terry Hiscock (acoustic and electric guitars, slide guitar, piano, vocals); Doug Morter (acoustic and electric guitars, vocals) and Rog Trevitt (bass guitar, mandolin, vocals). They play distinctive original songs in a folky, bluesy, and sometimes Americana vein. Formed in 1968, the band played at home and abroad until 1974, producing two, now collectable, albums: “Every Time You Move” with bassist Danny Thompson, (re-released in 2009) and “Hunter Muskett”. produced by Keith Relf.
Doug Morter went on to carve out a career as the ‘go-to’ vocalist/guitarist of the folk-rock scene, performing with the likes of Magna Carta, Albion Band, Maddy Prior, Michael Chapman and Jerry Donahue.
Since they resumed touring in 2010, Hunter Muskett have released three further critically acclaimed albums of new material: “That Was Then, This Is Now” (2013), “Unafraid and Sober” (2017) and “Roll On” (2024).
“High quality songwriting and musicianship are at the core of all they do… a delight from start to finish … the trio exude class” – Joe Whittaker, Folk London
Hugh Boyde: Enjoy a treat for the ears as Hugh explores the sounds of ragtime, blues and early jazz, with age-appropriate instruments such as an archtop electric guitar and a tenor guitar, adding melodious vocals and the sentiments of yesteryear.
