The Boxwood Chessmen are a semi-acoustic, four piece band from East
Anglia and Middlesex, raiding a fabulous musical pantry stocked with the
finest roots ingredients - Folk, Americana, Angliana, hokum, a light dusting
of swing all delivered with panache and fun ..... Pretty much anything goes
into the pot. We call it Gloriana.

The Boxwood Chessmen are:

Penni McLaren Walker – Lead vocals, Guitars, Bouzouki, Whistles, kazoo,
Accordion and percussion, not necessarily all at the same time.

Hector Ringtone, AKA Steve Collins – Vocals, E-Melodeon, Melodeon,
Ukulele, harmonica, guitar, kazoo and percussion.
He misses Whicker Island.

John Campbell Armer – Vocals, bass, guitars, percussion and other noises.

Bryan Causton – Vocals, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki and percussion.
Which is nice.

Tuesday Night Tea Club are a local act comprising of Matt H (Earl Grey) Matt J ( Tippss) and 'Dargeeling Dave'.
The two Matts have been friends and song writing companions for many years and although there is more tea drank then tunes written, they have a varied repertoire of mostly relaxed, perhaps ironic, thought provoking numbers. They are regularly played on Les Ray's folk show on Cambridge 105fm and can be heard on Soundcloud, Spotify and all streaming bits and pieces.
Cambridge folk club is a favourite spot and getting out to play live is a rare occasion, so not to be missed!

Cambridgeshire based singer-songwriter Melody Coles was born into music and immersed into the life of folk and country music from childhood. Growing up a toddler sleeping in guitar cases beside the stage whilst her parents performed, Melody now gigs on stage with her dad in their own musical duo. Playing country-folk infused songs with raw, emotive lyrics she tells powerful stories of motherhood, growing up and life.

Some of her proudest musical moments include singing at Thatchers Sessions presented by Huw Stephens, and supporting a number of respected folk acts on the folk club scene including Megson, Elizabeth and Jameson, Richard Digance  and Nancy Kerr & James Fagan to name a few.

She's also gained past radio support from BBC Introducing and Radio 1, and is enjoying being back at it after having her two children and some health problems between 2019 and 2023.

She's released new music for 2024 with a single "Me Without You" and is ready to take to the stage.
