*BREAKING NEWS*

We are devastated to announce that our Daphne sister and founder member, Melanie Harrold, has had to withdraw from the tour. After having a period of feeling quite unwell, she has now had a diagnosis of Kidney failure and is undergoing treatment. We wish her all the love and strength for her journey ahead and hope she is in much better health in the coming months.

With this news in mind, and with very heavy hearts, we have made the decision to make this the last tour of Daphne’s Flight. It has been a wonderful journey but as they say, all good things must come to an end so this will be our final album and farewell tour.

The four of us hope to see you all on the forthcoming tour for our FINAL FLIGHT.

Thank you for your love and support over the years.

About Daphne’s Flight are a 5-piece band showcasing five of the leading singer/songwriters of their generation – Chris While, Julie Matthews, Helen Watson, Miranda Sykes and Melanie Harrold.  Described as one of the most exciting vocal groups to emerge on the acoustic music scene, their energy on stage is matched only by their collective talents, Daphne’s Flight are unrivalled and sit firmly in a class of their own as singers, musicians and writers.

Chris While joined The Albion Band in 1993 as lead singer with Fairport's Simon Nicol and Ashley Hutchings. She left the band in 1997 to pursue a full-time duo career with her Albion Band mate and then partner Julie Matthews.
While & Matthews, now famous around the globe for their live performances, have been nominated ten times in the Best Live act, best song and best duo categories at the BBC Folk awards and in 2009, they won the 'Best Duo' award.

Julie Matthews: is one of the country's most talented and prolific song writers. In 2015, she was one of the writers for 'The Ballads Of Child Migration', along with Chris While, Jez Lowe, O'Hooley and Tidow, Boo Hewerdine, John Doyle, Andy Seward, John McKusker and Michael McGoldrick.

Helen Watson: is a unique performer whose versatile voice and idiosyncratic songs are a welcome change in the world of singer/songwriters. Her music crosses the boundaries between blues, soul, jazz and folk.

Miranda Sykes: After a few years of musical promiscuity playing with Firebrand, Little Johnny England, Robb Johnson, Bill Jones, Steafan Hannigan, Reg Meuross, Kirsty McGee, The Phil Beer Band, Martyn Joseph and The Scoville Units she depped for Pete Zorn in the 2004 Show Of Hands festival band line up. Miranda toured with them for the next 20 years,

Melanie Harrold: began her career as Joanna Carlin singing in the folk clubs of the 70’s, moving into musical theatre and television before making her first album Fancy That with DJM records.
