Emotive songstress Jennifer Lee Ridley weaves together Romantic and folk influences to create music that is both poignant and deeply moving. Having studied the poetic nature of song in depth, she draws inspiration from writers such as William Shakespeare and John Keats, through to modern musical poets like Joni Mitchell and Sandy Denny. In recent years, Jennifer has fused these classical influences with her own contemporary songwriting, carefully preserving the purity and depth of her lyrical expression.
Her dark warm vocals combined with her individual folk sound mirrors the poetic lyrics which explore the many facets of human emotions.
This reflective and collaborative spirit continues to shape her evolving artistry. Working alongside composers, musicians, and writers both locally and in London, she feels strongly that collaborating is an important part of growing and building an understanding of the nature and the impact of poetry and prose on music.
