Phil Beer:
‘Phil is one of the most popular ambassadors for acoustic roots music. A dazzling instrumentalist, he is perhaps best known as a topflight fiddler.’ But in his own words: “I would actually take issue with that statement. I didn’t write it.  I’m very good at what I do. The trick is to design what you do in order to accommodate your limitations. That’s why I don’t teach. I leave that to the pros. I’m too busy gigging or making albums anyway. I’ve now been ‘on the road’ for 45 years. I’m amazed I’m still standing. I’ve made hundreds of albums with bands/singers/ musicians and done gigs with most of them. Some are world famous, some you’ve never heard of. Whilst I ache in the places I used to play (L Cohen!), I’m still up for what is about to happen, not what has been and gone. Hopefully, myself and my compatriots have more to contribute yet before we shuffle off.”

Phil plays in the all-star line-up, Feast of Fiddles. But his skills don't stop there, he also plays slide, Spanish and tenor guitar, mandocello, viola, mandolin and South American cuatro, not to mention contributing rich vocals.

A Phil Beer gig has been described as “a heart-warming, understated and thoroughly entertaining show of accomplished musicianship from a virtuoso performer”. And that says it all.

Laura Dannan is a singer-songwriter from Hertfordshire. With her quirky narrative style and relatable lyrics, Laura's songs combine storytelling with the use of vivid imagery as she brings a light-hearted approach to pondering life's trials and tribulations.

Becoming a musician slightly later in life, Laura initially learnt to play the drums. Then, in the first lockdown of 2020, she decided to teach herself guitar, and her love of songwriting really began. Fastforward to now, and Laura has had a great couple of years performing and sharing her songs to wonderful audiences in a variety of places, including folk clubs, festivals, and iconic London music venues including "The Troubadour", "The Half Moon Putney", and "Green Note". At the moment, she is focussing on recording her songs and working on her first album.

“With her emotional melodies and intimate narratives, all interwoven with poetic tales, Dannan has a reputation for depth, connection and tenderness.” – The Other Side
