Boo Hewerdine and Reg Meuross have run joint song writing retreats at Halsway Manor. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to perform together.
For over 30 years Boo Hewerdine has been considered one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters. As lead singer of seminal band, The Bible through to his subsequent solo work and long-time collaboration with the incredible Eddi Reader he has become something of a national treasure. He is in demand as a writer, producer and performer. Over a hundred of his songs have been covered by the likes of KD Lang, Kris Drever, Chris Difford, Heidi Talbot and Hannah Rarity. His album ‘Before’ was recorded with supreme Danish multi- instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren. It garnered multiple five star reviews.
Since then he has released a lockdown EP, 'Singularities' and in 2022 a brand new album 'Understudy' released on Reveal Records. On this tour he will be singing songs from his new album and his extraordinary back catalogue. A naturally gifted raconteur his gigs are always a total joy.
Award-winning Reg Meuross was introduced on the stage of the Albert Hall by Mike Harding as ‘one of this country’s finest’ and is a true modern troubadour, representing contemporary English folk writing at its best. Captivating audiences with his beautiful tenor voice, and with a breadth and depth of material that is unparalleled, Reg has toured extensively for decades across the UK, Europe, North America and the Antipodes.
Witnessing a Reg Meuross performance as he masterfully accompanies himself on his ’44 Martin six-string guitar, harmonica, tenor guitar, banjo or dulcimer, is to experience a journey into the heart, soul and songs of one of England’s most celebrated writers. Reg writes stories that need to be told; of struggles that need to be known; of injustice that needs to be uncovered; of social conscience that needs to be celebrated – his music has an unrivalled power to reach and move the listener. After fifteen critically-acclaimed albums, he continues to prove how highly relevant his songs are, whilst reaching new audiences with his consistently spellbinding performances.
Reg is currently touring with his song cycle “Stolen From God.” Focusing on the Transatlantic slave trade, it uncovers its hidden history from the perspective of South-West England.
He has also recorded “Fire & Dust”, a song cycle that delves into the life story of Woody Guthrie. A journey into the heart and soul of one of America’s finest folk musicians, it highlights racism, bigotry, corruption and inequality.
“The remarkable singer-songwriter that is Reg Meuross” – BBC Radio 3
Tom Dibb: Get set for a beautifully gutsy performance, as Tom tells his stories with undertones of blues, roots and folk, grown through a forest of soaring acoustic goodness.
Now with two full length albums under his belt, Tom has found his sound set firmly with an ever growing, loyal fan base that follow him not only across his home turf in the UK, but also across the Globe. Tom's world tour and self drive expedition in his 1989 vw campervan all the way from the UK to Australia in 2016, lay the foundations and inspiration for much of his material. It fits into mainstream molds, yet also satisfies a deeper creative taste.
Tom has successfully spread his music far and wide with a very organic style, playing and singing at every opportunity from street corners and living rooms, to full band gigs on big stages. A love for his trade means his sights are set on 'keeping it real' while achieving as much as he can.
