20171020: Friday 20th October: Roving Crows
Support: Robert Brown
Innovative, funky and energetic, Roving Crows combine an exhilarating live performance with a unique ability to connect with the audience. Active on the UK folk scene since 2009, their take on Celtic fusion has won them several awards, including 'Band of the Year 2013' (Fatea) and 'Best Live Band' (Spiral Earth) 2014. They have also appeared at numerous festivals including Cambridge (as our guests on the Club Stage), Trowbridge Village Pump and Lakefest; released 3 albums, and had BBC R2 airplay. Earlier this year, the band, whose current line-up is Paul O'Neill (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Caitlin Barret (fiddle, vocals); Loz Shaw (fretless bass guitar, clarinet, synthesizer, vocals) and Tim Downes-Hall (percussion) released their latest album, ‘Bury Me Naked’, and were named International Artists of the Year at the Australian Music Awards 2017.

Musician/singer Robert is a renowned acoustic guitarist whose work has been favourably compared with the likes of Nick Drake, Davy Graham and Jimmy Page. Extensive travelling in Europe, North Africa and North America has enabled him to absorb the music and culture, which emerges in subtle rootsy nuances in his work. ‘Road Dog the Video’ is now available on line.
