20170901: Friday 1st September: Open Stage with Jordan and Richard Matthews
Father and son Richard and Jordan Matthews do not normally perform together. However, for this Open Stage, there may be a fleeting collaboration at the changeover. Richard's influences from the 70s include Neil Young, James Taylor, Paul Simon and Steely Dan amongst others. He has written some of his own material, but mainly performs covers. Jordan began playing guitar at 16, and just six years later, was taking his playing to a new level with intricate finger style renditions of songs and arrangements by Martin Simpson, Pierre Bensusan, Richard Thompson and Paul Brady. He is at present writing and arranging material, and plans to release his debut EP by summer 2018.
8pm (Doors open 7:30pm)
Entry: £4(door), £3(advance), £2(members), £1(performers).
