20191220: Friday 20th December: Christmas Showcase: Lady Hamilton's Concert Party; David Savage; The Threebys; Andrew Smith

Lady Hamilton's Concert Party are a trio of comedy folk musicians for a discerning devotee. “The Ladies” are here to delight and amuse with a comedic commentary on 'Life The Universe and Everything", with eclectic experiences from North Norfolk to the Cambridgeshire Fens. With a smorgasbord of musical delights, “The Ladies” aim to please with harmony song, foot stomping instrumentals and the occasional high class poetry recital. Crack open the Champers "dahlings", grab your gas bags and glad rags and trott along for a tipple of titillating entertainment.

David Savage: Entertain ɛntəˈteɪn: to hold the attention of an audience, proving amusement and enjoyment….. the raison d’etre for David Savage’s performances of songs old and new …. on their own or accompanied by guitar, dulcimer or concertina.

The Threebys - Judy (vocals), Pat (vocals) and Marion (piano) - enjoy selecting, arranging and performing material from the English folk tradition, with Marion’s sensitive accompaniments complementing Pat and Judy’s mellifluous harmonies. Tonight’s performance features a set of Victorian songs.

Andrew Smith plays a wide variety of songs from the great days of the Music Hall mostly accompanied on the ukulele. Anything from Harry Champion to George Formby. He also has a repertoire of folk songs and ditties learned from his father, who was a farm labourer in Shropshire between the two World Wars. Expect lots of great choruses!
