20181019: Friday 19th October: Showcase: Jackson Creek Band; Steve Logan with members of his band, Geronimo; Craig Joiner

The Jackson Creek Band - Ben Ashby (bass, guitar), Helene Jones (guitar, vocals) and Ken Hill (upright bass) has appeared at venues and folk clubs in the Cambridge area and further afield, performing Country & Western, Bluegrass and folk music - all with a healthy dose of harmony, some fancy guitar picking and wholesome upright bass beats that will get your toes tapping. It’s country music with class.

Steve Logan is a Welsh songwriter and rock musician, working across the borderline between acoustic folk and hard-edged, high-octane rock. Influenced by Dylan and Neil Young, Steve is a song-poet, focusing on the point where music and poetry meet. He has recorded acoustically (Signs and Wonders, 2014) and with his full band (Deliverance, 2015; Wanted Alive, 2016). His latest album, Backstreets of Eden, was launched locally in 2017, and he is currently working on his next album, Shaking Hands with the Devil. Tonight, he will be joined by members of his band, Geronimo, Andy Cross (guitar) and John Carrod (bass).

“A voice he can take anywhere in a style that's all his own.”

Craig Joiner has returned to his origins, with his new solo album ‘The Art of Landing’, a collection of songs with contemporary folk and country music influences. Craig draws his inspiration from a wide variety of artists including the likes of John Denver and John Martyn to Rush! His music, he hopes, will be a reflection of life, love and all this world has to throw at us!
