20180309: Friday 9th March: Brooks Williams

£11.00

Support: Chris Fox

Ranked in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, Brooks Williams is a mean finger-picker and a stunning slide guitarist. The San Antonio Light has described him as a “fret monster who has to be seen to be believed!" Plus, according to Americana UK, “he has a beautiful voice that you just melt into.” Not easy to pigeon-hole, Brooks' music is the love-child of country blues and soulful Americana. His massive repertoire spans classic roots and blues such as Trouble In Mind, Backwater Blues and Mother Earth, as well as compelling covers of Dave Alvin, Buddy Miller and Mose Allison. His own songs are thoroughly alive with clearly-drawn ironic characters, and are rich in blues pathos.

"Stirring up soulful Americana, full-on blues and tasty rootsy grooves, he really rocks." fRoots.
