20170630: Friday 30th June: Morganway

Support: Yve Mary B and Tony Brook

Morganway’s fiery brand of alt-country is all driving riffs, charismatic five-part harmonies, emotional songwriting and compelling live performances.  Straight out of North Norfolk’s rural outback, the five-piece was started by twins Callum (acoustic guitar, lead vocals) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), and features Yve Mary B (lead vocals), Matt Brocklehurst (keyboard) and Simon Tinmouth (drums). The band’s distinctive Americana glow wears its heart on music that’s raw, melodic, sincere, full of energy and yearning for the open road.  Their second EP, The Hurricane, was released on 21st April.

"Morganway deliver beautiful harmonies that bring alt-country right to the forefront of the
americana and country scene," Maverick Magazine.

Yve Mary B: As well as being in the band Morganway, Yve is also a singer/guitarist and accomplished songwriter whose soulful bluesy sound absorbs elements of gospel, folk, country, swing and rock, to achieve musical freedom. She released her debut solo album ‘High on a Mountain’ in 2016.

"Beautifully delivered originals and covers in her country blues style and her gorgeous voice,” The Norwich Blog.

Tony Brook is a working musician/songwriter from Alabama whose music encompasses Americana, blues and rock-n-roll. He has performed with Lucinda Williams, Steve Young, Johnny Neal, Tanya Tucker and Waylon Jennings’ Band, and has opened up for such luminaries as Willie Nelson and Ray Charles.

“His songs are solid messages of truth and political wisdom. His sweet-tea southern drawl tells it like it is,” Jonas Shultz, Freak Jams.
